Chateau De Pray - Amboise

Historic small chateau with a Michelin starred restaurant, well located in Amboise with easy access to the major sites. The staff were very accommodating and it was nice to have a pool on property.

The outer buildings were good sized for a family but lacked the charm of the chateau itself.

It was very helpful and we had a lovely day visiting the Château and the whole of Leonardo da Vinci. If you fantasize staying in the Château this is perfect

Beautiful grounds, welcoming staff, nicely appointed room, awesome atmosphere, delicious breakfast.

No screens on room windows. Had to open them to cool down the room, which resulted in an invasion of little flying bugs.

We spent and excellent 2 days in the Loire Valley using Chateau De Pray as our base. It is a beautiful Chateau with lovely grounds and a pool. Very relaxing. Dinner at the Chateau was excellent, easily the best of our meals among our week in France. Would seriously consider returning for another Loire centered weekend in the future.

Location was great, very central, and staff were very helpful. Had we had more time and not been there during a heat wave, I expect we would've enjoyed our stay even more! Breakfast while pricey was one of the best we've had in France.

We were put on 2ieme floor during a heat wave with only one tiny fan to cool the room - better than nothing, but an extra fan or even an apology might've made the experience a bit better.

We had a not large but very cosy beautifully decorated room with a view into the yard. The bathroom was unexpectedly large and comfortable. Thr chateau is situated in the very good location, not far from Amboise and other main places of interest. On the other hand the atmosphere around is very tranquil and relaxing. The restaurant has to be mentioned. The cuisine is really tasty and refined.

The main discomfort is the absence of a lift

Welcoming staff; excellent facilities and splendid dining. An ideal stop-over between Dordogne region and the channel.

Great location, everything expected from a Chateau but a little pretencious. The menu was overpriced.
